Australia has been one of the world’s true hotbeds of Bitcoin activity over the last eighteen months. Bitcoin ownership and commercial use have been among the highest of any country on Earth, with entire Australian towns looking to adopt the digital technology. Senate meetings, Bitcoin bill payment programs, and conferences with Andreas Antonopoulos have filled the news. Now, Australia takes a step towards true Bitcoin technology leadership with the advent of direct Bitcoin transfers into fiat currency bank accounts.
Leading Australian Bitcoin facilitator
Living Room of Satoshi has pioneered the new program called “Pay Anyone” that
works through their website. You can shift the field from Bitcoin bill payment,
which is called BPay, to a bitcoin transfer screen, where you can enter the
banking information required to consummate a transfer. Presumably, this will
convert to the current value to fiat currency upon arrival. It will need the
recipient’s BSB and account #, plus the amount of BTC sent in Australian
dollars.
“Bitcoin users can now pay their friends,
tradesmen and anyone else; even if the recipient has no knowledge about
bitcoin,” says Living Room of Satoshi CEO Daniel Alexiuc. “This is a vital
piece of payment infrastructure that is now available to all Australians.”
